Russian President Considers Retaliation against Ukraine in Alleged Student Dormitory Attack

Russian President Vladimir Putin has indicated a desire to retaliate against Ukraine following allegations of a fatal attack at a student dormitory in the Starobilsk city of the Luhansk region. The incident reportedly resulted in the death of eight individuals and injuries to 39 others, as stated by Putin. The Ukrainian military has been accused of launching an assault on a Rubikon drone unit headquarters in Starobilsk, with Putin raising doubts about the claimed target building. Putin emphasized that there were no military centers, intelligence services, or related facilities in the area. He also dismissed any basis for the assertion of an attack on an explosives depot within the building as part of the air defense or electrical warfare system consequences during a program at the Kremlin on Friday. In response to the issue of how to counteract, Putin has ordered the Russian military to prepare its 'proposals.' He claimed that Ukrainian attacks occurred in three waves using 16 drones. Additionally, a Russian state TV channel has identified one of the deceased as a student, Diana Shobkun, aged 19.
