Kirtipur Cricket Stadium: Extension of Agreement Announced

Tribhuvan University, where the Kirtipur International Cricket Stadium is located, has announced the extension of the agreement following a decision made by the government after a cabinet meeting on Monday, as revealed by the spokesperson and Minister of Education and Sports, Sasmith Pokharel. The construction of a well-equipped stadium with floodlights has raised hopes and possibilities for what the stadium can offer to the community. Spanning across 76 ropanis, the stadium built within Tribhuvan University premises has garnered attention and speculation about its potential benefits. The return of encroached land following the formation of a land search committee based on a report has also called for the return of encroached land, inviting various 18 organizations to participate in the process. Chumbi Lama, spokesperson of the Nepal Cricket Association, expressed optimism about the agreement, highlighting the potential for significant advancements in Nepali cricket through the revitalization of the stadium. Recognizing the unique structure and usage of the facilities within the Trivi region and the Kirtipur Cricket Stadium, Lama emphasized the unifying aspect and national significance of the project. Lama stated, "This isn't just about a cricket stadium. It's about bringing the nation together, uniting players, and showcasing the government's investment in the country's sporting assets, ultimately benefiting the entire nation's sporting landscape."
