Stock Market Sees 26-Point Decline, Trading Worth Over 6 Billion Rupees
In the course of today's trading, a total of 349 companies exchanged 140 million shares, resulting in a business volume equivalent to 6 billion 53 million 17 thousand rupees. Except for other sub-groups, all sector indices were observed to close lower by the end of the day. The hotel and tourism sector saw the most significant decline at 2.56%, followed by the production and processing sector at 2.46%. The energy sub-group also experienced a decrease of 1.74%. Based on trading value, Palpa Cement remained at the top with shares worth more than 58 million 33 thousand rupees being traded. Similarly, Reliance Spinning Mills and Corporate Development Bank conducted transactions worth 34 million 68 thousand rupees and 30 million 28 thousand rupees, respectively. Investors in Himalayan Bank's debentures gained a profit of 6%, while Corporate Development Bank investors suffered the most significant loss at 14.99%. Reliance Spinning Mills' share price also dropped by 10.27%. Out of 213 companies whose share prices decreased, 42 companies saw an increase, while the prices of 14 companies remained stable.
