Nepali Climbers Achieve Remarkable Milestones on Mount Everest

Nepali mountaineer Kami Rita Sherpa successfully reached the summit of Mount Everest for the 32nd time, breaking his own record and earning praise from officials. According to the Department of Tourism, he scaled the peak of Sagarmatha at 10:12 am on Sunday. Having first climbed Everest in 1994, Kami Rita has been a regular at the summit, with his previous ascents including the 31st time last year and twice in 1981. The Department also highlighted that another climbing milestone was achieved on Everest. Meanwhile, female climber Lhakpa Sherpa also made her mark by reaching the summit for the 11th time at 9:30 am on Sunday. The Department noted that her frequent successful ascents make her one of the most experienced climbers on the mountain. Prior to this, in 2022, she had climbed Everest for the 10th time. During that expedition, she had also broken the record for the most ascents by a woman climber under her own name, reaching the summit nine times.
