The National Planning Commission's former vice-chairperson has indicated that the current powerful government aims to implement policy measures to ensure revenue collection from various sources and potentially expand the scope of taxation while increasing employee salaries. Some in the private sector expect long-term policies beneficial for business and industry to be introduced. Amid concerns about the sluggish economy, a leader of a private sector umbrella organization anticipates the emergence of crucial policies for business and industry in the near future. Finance Minister Swarnim Wagley has expressed the intention to uplift the economic status of the poor and prioritize the expansion of the middle class. The Finance Ministry spokesperson characterized decisions on reviewing tax limits as a 'sensitive' matter with an evaluation of potential impacts on revenue collection before making any final decisions. Officials have also mentioned the likelihood of making decisions on increasing employee salaries towards the end, as part of the 'Signature Projects' to be included in the new budget. According to authorities, decisions on the potential increase in employee salaries will be made closer to the finalization of the new budget, as various 'Signature Projects' are being determined for inclusion.
