Weekly Agricultural Market Launched in Panchkhal
Panchkhal Municipality has kicked off a promising initiative by starting a weekly agricultural market in the area. Organized by the local Agricultural Market Manager, in collaboration with the Panchkhal-4 ward office, the market aims to facilitate direct sales of farmers' produce to consumers, promoting accessibility and affordability. The market, operational for two days every Friday and Saturday, has already seen enthusiastic participation from both farmers and consumers. Notably, the market features a special showcase and distribution of organic produce, with plans for regular exhibitions and competitive agricultural programs. Panchkhal Mayor Mahesh Kharel highlighted the town's shift towards organic farming, emphasizing a decrease in chemical residues in local produce. He expressed optimism in bridging the gap between farmers and consumers through the market, reinforcing the town's vision of becoming an "Agricultural City." In a similar positive stride, neighboring municipalities such as Banepa and Mandandeupur Nagar have also embraced organic agricultural markets in recent years, signaling a broader movement towards sustainable and community-focused farming practices.
