Demonstrations Held by Youth Waiting to Go to Korea Under EPS

In Kathmandu, a group of youths awaiting to travel to South Korea under the Employment Permit System (EPS) staged a demonstration at Maitighar Mandala. The protesters, without any slogans, called on the government to expedite the process of sending them to South Korea. The youths, who have completed the language exam and necessary procedures for EPS, expressed frustration for being in a waiting phase to go to Korea for a long time. Demonstrators highlighted issues such as delays in labor contracts from Korean employers, limited labor quotas, slow processing, and administrative complexities as reasons for their dissatisfaction. Participants in the demonstration mentioned that despite spending years to pass the language exam and investing a significant amount in training and paperwork, they have not been able to go to Korea for employment. They have urged the government to make the process transparent, increase labor quotas, and establish a system for swift deployment.
