Lumbini Province Focused on Boosting Production and Employment in Budget Allocation
Lumbini Province government is gearing up to allocate the budget for the fiscal year 2083/84 with a strong focus on enhancing production, creating employment opportunities, promoting economic prosperity, and ensuring social justice. Economic Affairs and Planning Minister Dhanendra Karki presented the principles and priorities of the planning bill in the provincial assembly, highlighting that agriculture, industry, tourism, energy, and infrastructure sectors will be pivotal in driving economic growth. The government aims to foster job creation within the province through targeted skill training for youth, promoting self-employment, and implementing startup programs. Minister Karki emphasized the importance of investment growth in the production-oriented sectors, maximizing the utilization of local resources and assets to drive the economy forward. Furthermore, the province government has adopted a policy to prioritize budget allocation by expanding digital governance systems, controlling current expenditures, and focusing on comprehensive and multi-year plans. Programs related to health, education, agriculture, tourism, and social empowerment will receive special priority in the upcoming budget. Additionally, the government has outlined plans to develop Lumbini as an international religious and health tourism center, aiming to enhance tourism infrastructure, improve service delivery, and enhance collaboration with the private sector.
