Youth Successfully Rescued After Alleged Assault in Narephat
On the afternoon of 10th Jestha, in Kathmandu, a youth was reportedly assaulted with a sharp weapon in Narephat, leading to the apprehension of a suspect. The district police office in Kathmandu, under the leadership of SP Pawan Bhattarai, informed that the suspect, identified as Dhanu Raj Yadav, originally from Dhanusha and currently residing in Tikathali, Lalitpur, has been taken into custody. The victim of the attack, 18-year-old Karan Kumar Sah from Siraha Municipality-10, who had recently moved to Narephat for residence, showed bravery by refusing to engage in retaliatory violence or seek revenge, which was commendable. Following his cooperation, the police in Baneshwor conducted a thorough search operation. In connection with the incident, five to six individuals, including Dhanu Raj Yadav, a 28-year-old resident of Tikathali, Lalitpur, who provided false identities, also faced police action. SP Bhattarai mentioned that efforts are ongoing to locate others involved in the incident. The incident occurred on Friday afternoon around 2 PM, resulting in injuries to the victim's hand, chest, chin, and leg, as reported by the victim. According to police sources, the victim and the suspect are said to be relatives, with a nephew-uncle relationship. It was revealed that the uncle had previously assaulted the nephew in Tikathali, which led to the recent retaliatory attack witnessed by the police on Friday. Despite the unfortunate turn of events, the swift response and ongoing efforts of the police to investigate and bring all individuals involved to justice reflect a positive commitment to ensuring safety and peace in the community.
