Lack of Water for Burn Victims Causes Concern, Insufficient Medical Experts Available
In the burn ward of Kirtipur Hospital, a 9-year-old boy with severe burns on his left hand was admitted. The incident occurred when he was playing with friends and came into contact with a fire source, resulting in burn injuries. The boy's mother expressed worry over the severity of the burns, indicating that timely treatment was crucial. Despite receiving initial treatment at a local health facility, concerns arose as the burn did not show signs of improvement, prompting his transfer to a hospital in Kathmandu. Medical experts stated that timely specialized treatment could have increased the chances of wound healing, but delays in treatment initiation led to complications. In a separate incident, a five-year-old girl from Mugu suffered extensive burns while playing with fire, requiring urgent medical attention. Despite being taken to a local hospital, she did not receive immediate medical care, leading to her referral to a primary health center in Bajura for treatment.
