Inauguration of Beli Bridge in Maikot, Rukum East Brings Hope for Local Residents

The Beli Bridge constructed over the Maikot river in Ward No. 1 of Putha Uttarganga Rural Municipality in Rukum East has commenced operations from Sunday. The inauguration ceremony was led by the Rural Municipality Chairman Puniraj Ghartimagar, marking a significant milestone for the community. With a budget of approximately NPR 15 million allocated from its own resources, the Rural Municipality undertook the construction of the Beli Bridge. Chairman Ghartimagar highlighted that the bridge's operation will facilitate smooth movement and accessibility for the general public. This bridge serves as a crucial support structure for the Sani Bheri river, flowing from the remote Himalayan and mountainous regions of Putha. Previously, during the monsoon season, the inability to cross the river posed serious challenges for villagers in accessing healthcare, education, and markets. Now, the local residents express optimism about finding solutions to these pressing issues through the newly operational Beli Bridge.
